Plants and trees have been selected to suit the soil type: slowly permeable wet, acidic with a peaty surface. The perennial planting is designed to be vibrant and attractive all year round. Predominantly native trees and plants are used except for the feature trees. There is a visual and biological diversity of planting types from the woodlands to gravel gardens, a cut flower garden and perennial meadows. Ideas have been adapted from Wolfram Kircher, James Hitchmough and Nigel Dunnett. |
